J&K cabinet approves higher pay, allowance for Patwaris
Srinagar, Aug 19 2007 (UNI) Fulfilling the long pending demand of revenue officials, Jammu and Kashmir cabinet has approved higher pay and allowance for the Patwaris, Girdawaras and Naib Tehsildars in the state, an official spokesman said today.The spokesman said the cabinet under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad approved placement of Patwaries in the pay scale of Rs 4,000-6,000 from Rs 3,050-4,910, enhancement of fixed TA per month from Rs 40 to Rs 124 for Naib Tehsildars, from Rs 35 to Rs 110 for Girdawars and from Rs 30 to Rs 100 for Patwaries.
The cabinet also approved enhancement of travelling allowance per month for Patwaris from Rs five to Rs 100, and record allowance per month from Rs 50 to Rs 100.
This decision by the state cabinet has fulfilled the long pending demands of the Patwaries, Girdawars and Naib Tehsildars who had been pressing hard for removal of disparity in the pay scales, enhancement of allowances, travelling allowance, record allowance and fixed TA.
The coalition government headed by Mr Azad, has already enhanced the pay scales of teachers, accounts assistants, section officers besides strengthening and expanding the Kashmir Administrative Service(KAS).
Recently the cabinet enhanced the honorarium of numberdars, chowkidars and free travel facilities Enhancement of pay scale of Patwaries is also expected to lead effective implantation of 'Roshni' scheme enacted by the Azad led government conferring free ownership rights to the poor farmers on state land.

It also approved the creation of one post of professor and one post of associate professor in Bone and Joint Hospital Srinagar.
The cabinet also approved the promotion of Special Secretary Home Gazanfar Hussain to the super time scale of 18,000-22,000 in KAS.
